Appointment set-up simply isn't fit for purpose. If your not gravelly ill you can expect a appointment for 2.5 weeks time (No exaggeration). Other than that, you have to decide if your an emergency. And they have the tenacity to be advertising to be taking on more patients. They can't look after the ones they already have.

Both the doctor and nurse I have seen are very knowledgeable (Dr Mellor and Nurse Ann). However, my consultation with Ann felt rushed (not Ann's fault as only allocated 10 mins). Could have signs/notice at the front desk to alert me that I need to book separate appointments for different problems. However, the appointment system need an overhaul. You could never got through the phone to the receptionist at 8am. They only have one receptionist who must be overwhelmed with calls/patients. It is ok for people who are not getting ready to work and who can kept ringing. They need larger phone width so that we can but put on a queue instead of kept getting engaged ringtone. Also, some surgery allowed you to book up to couple of months in advance but not this surgery (only up to 3 weeks). It is a clean surgery with plenty of seats.

I am sitting outside Eden Medical Group now. The surgery is closed, but it does not say so in their website, in fact it says it is open ALL DAY. I visited the practice yesterday and was asked to provide a sample. I came to do this today. A gentleman (another patient) told me about a back door, as there was a notice on the letterbox saying NOT to leave samples, I went to the back foot. A receptionist came to the door, she took my sample but was extremely rude to me. She told me they were closed for training and that she shouldn't be taking anything from me. She asked how I knew about the back door and was just generally rude in the way she spoke to me. I asked her if their website said they were closed, she said "possibly". The website definitely does not say they are closed. I sincerely hope that the training they are currently doing is to train their reception staff!! How do rude people manage to get reception jobs?!

I am not usually one for writing a review but we have been with Eden medical for a number of years now, I can honestly say every experience has been appalling. Almost every member of staff have been rude, our current doctor has no care in the world for my wife, who has been diagnosed (privately) with a serious illness. We had no option but to go private, as she was not taken seriously here. Now we are looking for treatments for her and we are still not taken seriously, the doctor doesn't look up from his screen, doesn't even remember her when she goes. And refuses her basic scans with no communication back to us, we have to chase after weeks of waiting. We are completely unable to speak to our GP within a week, even a telephone appointment is a week away! Noting gets done, nothing has been kept on file from our last visit, it is just diabolical. Please do not subject yourself to such a place, go somewhere decent (as we will now be doing) where the doctors actually care about people, life is too short.
